During November 2001 I made several changes to the site, most of which were to make people aware
of the new community portal site I have started.
I will also add several new services, such as Web search, and I may also make changes to the
free email service I introduced in August.
The forum has now been superceded by a more integrated version, so that users who register at
the portal can use the same username and password to access all the features there.
I apologize, but those that registered for the old forum will need to sign up again.
Many of the articles here will also be repeated on the new site, and hopefully, in time, other
users will also contribute.
Please bear with me during this transitional period, as I will in effect be updating two
separate sites. I will need to experiment a little to find the best way of integrating them both in
a way that allows you to find the information you need as quickly as possible.
Spaceports News
Probably the biggest news about Spaceports is the discontinuation of the revenue sharing scheme,
effective from the start of November.
Those that didn't receive a newsletter about it can read a copy in the the Comments from the
Dev Team section of the Spaceports
Forum.
New Pages
Other than the changes mentioned above, I have also added two new pages to this site:-
- NewsPro
- Instructions for installing NewsPro 3.8 with tips on including the created news on the 'planet'
servers.
phpMyAdmin- Instructions for installing phpMyAdmin - a MySQL database administration script.
I also removed the instructions for the Web Office Postcards script as without sendmail it is
fairly pointless.
